One of the important skills I’ve learned as a podcaster is how to conduct an interview. Researching guests, creating a cohesive storyline, and interview etiquette have all been skills I’ve learned on the job. Having been a guest on nearly 100 shows, I’ve learned a lot about pitching podcasters and show producers. I’ve mastered how to confidently express myself, concisely tell my story and encourage listeners to take the next step with me — whether that’s listening to my show, following me on social, or purchasing my products.
Interview Mastery Summit 2022
Improving & Leveraging Interviews For Hosts and Guests
About the Summit
While you’ll usually find a few interview-based sessions at most podcasting conferences, I’m excited to emcee a virtual summit that focuses on making interviews memorable.
Happening on February 19th from 10 am to 3 pm EST, Interview Mastery Summit features sessions created to help hosts and guests. Areas of focus include podcasts, YouTube, Clubhouse, Twitter Spaces, and more.
Event host and founder of Podcast Guest Academy, Mark Deal, believes “a great interview is a shared responsibility between hosts and guests.” The event is streamed live as a single track, and sessions focus on advice for both sides of the mic.
As a cohost, I’m looking forward to gaining insights into building communities on social audio platforms like Twitter Spaces. Every week I tune in to different conversations in travel, personal finance, freelancing, and podcasting. I have even considered starting a Twitter Space for WOC Podcasters (Twitter: @wocpodcasters). Follow us and stay tuned!
