Associate Producer – Gender Reveal Podcast

Gender Reveal is a weekly, interview-based podcast about gender and trans people. It is also a biannual grant program, mutual aid distribution hub, nonprofit merch store, newsletter, community space, and more. This position is flexible: you’d likely have the opportunity to work on any of these projects, although not expected to help with all of them.

Position Details

  • Experienced with Reaper (or ProTools).
  • Actively think about how gender impacts us on a personal and cultural level, and how it intersects with other identities (e.g. race, size, ability).
  • Passionate about community support, and familiar with issues that affect trans people.

Location: Remote.

Salary: $25/hr, expect to start at ~15 hrs/week.

Producer – KYW Newsradio Original Podcasts

KYW Newsradio is seeking podcast producers with a passion for local news and compelling in-depth audio storytelling. This team will work on KYW Newsradio’s podcast offerings, which include Gone Cold, The Rundown, and more. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience producing, editing, and distributing podcasts, narrative audio, and/or multimedia digital news content.

Position Details

  • Produce and edit podcasts and long-form audio stories, and video segments to complement long-form audio.
  • Develop and pitch compelling, creative story ideas.
  • Report, research, and write podcast segments.
  • Coordinate production and logistics in the studio and the field.
  • Work with broadcast and digital news for maximum engagement across platforms.

Senior Producer – Ten Percent Happier

The Senior Producer of the Ten Percent Happier Podcast will lead our flagship show’s creative evolution, support audience growth, and community impact through innovative show design. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of journalism and podcast production experience and familiarity with meditation and Buddhism.

Position Details

  • Editorial lead on weekly production meetings.
  • Develop episode concepts, identify possible guests and lead edits on episodes.
  • Lead coordinator for all audio engineering needs and continually improve the sound of the show.

Transmitter Media is a Peabody-nominated podcast production company looking for an Associate Producer to join their team. The ideal candidate is an audio producer with 2+ years of experience in audio production and some experience in reporting, field producing and thinking in narrative arc.

Position Details

  • Organize key components of show production.
  • Assist all phases of podcast production across several shows.
  • Record, edit and manage transcriptions of tape.
  • Research and report show topics.
  • Work in collaborative production teams.

Salary: $68-72k with full benefits package.

Senior Producer – Podcast Allies

Lead a team that will create a highly produced interview show for people seeking purpose-driven careers, largely related to climate change. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in podcasts or public radio features/shows and is passionate about the environment. This is an independent contractor position for an eight-episode season, each about half an hour long.

Position Details

  • Shape a diverse and engaging guest lineup for the season.
  • Approach environment-related topics with originality.
  • Stay up to date with current events in the field to inform season planning.
  • Have the full range of skills expected from a senior producer; plan episodes/seasons/production schedules, pitch episode ideas, and vet guests. Audio editing skills are also helpful.

Location: Remote

Salary: $2,500 – $3,300 per episode, commensurate with experience.

Podcast Programming Manager – Discovery

As Podcast Programming Manager, you will play a crucial role in the newly established podcast department. The podcast department supports podcasts produced by Discovery brands, such as Food Network and HGTV. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in developing and producing podcasts, comfortable in ambiguity, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and must love TV.

  • Work with network content teams on their podcasts.
  • Collaborate with the discovery+ team on new podcasts from conception to release.

Coordinator, Podcasts – Discovery

As Podcast Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in Discovery’s newly established podcast department, reporting to the Director of Podcasts. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of work experience in a related field, accomplished computer skills, audio production knowledge, and is passionate about podcasts, highly organized, and hungry to learn.

Position Details

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the central podcast team, contributing as needed to all podcasting functions.
  • Develop an integrated view of the podcast programming schedule and support network teams with their shows.
  • Coordinate podcast marketing initiatives and research.
  • Organize and maintain the podcast production knowledge center.

Science Vs Internship – Gimlet

This is a six-month contract role starting in July. The posting will close at 5pm EST on May 3rd, 2021.

Science Vs is looking for a full-time intern (it’s paid!) who is comfortable reading scientific papers and using the primary literature to research topics. The successful candidate will be able to parse complicated jargon into clear and simple concepts, and assist the team to make sure scripts are factually correct. Science Vs is the show that pits facts against fads. We explore the evidence behind popular trends and ideas – like fasting diets, 5G, magic mushrooms and astrology – and make a lot of terrible puns along the way. We take facts seriously, but not ourselves.

Position Details

  • Fact check scripts – make sure each claim is backed up with evidence.
  • Research topic areas using scientific papers.
  • Listen to interviews and select the best tape.
  • Assemble early versions of episodes in Pro Tools (we’ll train you!).
  • Science research experience.

Location: Option to work remote or within the U.S.

Pay is $25 an hour; job includes health care benefits and PTO.

Podcast Producer – Somethin’ Else 

Somethin’ Else, the UK’s largest independent audio production company with a podcast venture with Sony Music, is looking for a producer with experience in narrative storytelling and audio production, strong organizational skills to meet deadlines, and an understanding of what makes a compelling podcast. The Wall Street Journal is looking for a self-starting, experienced audio producer for the Tech News podcast team. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in audio storytelling and working in news or news-adjacent settings; and is creative, collaborative, and can quickly switch gears and react to breaking news. You’ll work with the Tech News podcast host and an experienced tech bureau in the Bay Area, tapping into WSJ reporting and initiating original ideas.

Position Details

  • Handle soup-to-nuts production of a daily tech podcast.
  • Conduct remote recordings and in-studio 2-way interviews with reporters.
  • Do field reporting and interviews with tech industry insiders.
  • Use ProTools or Adobe Audition to cut and assemble shows.

You are someone who can envision and execute on both individual episodes and figure out how they fit into a limited-run series, know how to work with high-level talent, and have a strong interest in key areas of coverage (news, politics, culture). You’re extremely detail-oriented, and you can do it all. We have a fun team that needs a producer who can work independently but thrives with a highly collaborative workflow. The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of experience in soup-to-nuts audio production; we have a preference for a candidate who has written and produced feature stories of their own in the past.

Position Details

  • Produce high-quality, polished narrative episodes ready for public listening.

  • Develop and create innovative, high-quality content to significantly increase APM Studio’s global audience reach.
