WNYC Studios seeks a highly skilled and collaborative associate producer.

You: have a way with hosts and reporters, a knack for collaborating with both talent and the larger production team (EP, reporters, editor, engineer, sound designer, etc.), and also an ability to work independently at various stages of the process.

This role involves creative and ruthless booking, nimble tape cutting, collaborative scripting, and detailed administrative tasks.

The Associate Producer reports to the Senior Producer and assists the host in creating content for the podcast, the website, and live shows. The successful candidate will be passionate, curious and informed about a wide range of topics, an exceptional writer, a skilled communicator, and savvy in the use of digital media.

This is a part-time position in Los Angeles CA. Friends of the Friend sci fi/horror podcast is looking for an additional producer. Experience with audio-drama, specifically in the sci-fi or horror genres preferred, with an emphasis on heavy sound design and atmospheric music.

Internships

Summer InternshipRadiolab (NYPR)

The goal of our NYC based-internship program is to provide a substantive, meaningful work experience so that each intern concludes the internship period with demonstrable skills in his/her area of interest, plus knowledge of public radio, in general.

We are looking for applicants who are voraciously curious about a wide variety of subjects, and who are enthusiastic learners with the ability to work independently. We prefer some journalism or writing experience, but we do not require new interns to have experience with radio production.

You must submit three documents: 1) a resume, 2) a brief cover letter explaining why you want to be a Radiolab intern, and 3) a set of answers to the following questions at the link below.

Scholarships & Fellowships

Fall Production FellowshipThis American Life (NYC)

Apply for a six-month paid production apprenticeship at This American Life offices in NYC starting in July for the Fall term! Fellows are encouraged to produce their own pieces, including reporting, interviewing, structuring, editing and mixing. How much they do depends mostly on their own initiative and self-motivation.

Please note: This is not an entry-level position. Production fellows are required to have experience with Pro Tools or similar digital editing software and they’re responsible for producing on-air promos and rerun episodes – and helping with show segments – from the week they arrive. If you have no radio or audio editing experience, this program isn’t for you.
