Podthon ’20 is a virtual podcasting summit creating a space for speakers of color in the industry.
Building on last year’s success, this year, we’ve invited more speakers to our virtual stage. A number of sponsors who believe in our mission have also joined us including OSSA Collective, a women’s podcast network elevating women’s voices on a global scale. Adding over a dozen more speakers this year, Podthon ’20 will feature 30+ speakers from event organizers to six-figure coaches.
Podthon was born out of the need for more representation of speakers of color at podcasting conferences across the country. Co-founder Lee Uehara and I also recognized that a lot of great content is left on the table from other conference speaker-selection processes. We wanted to create a platform to offer podcasters who have a message and great content the ability to share.
Not to mention, although extremely valuable, attending in-person conferences can be costly. With a virtual conference, both speakers and attendees can join from the comfort of their homes. This so happens to be critical during the pandemic.
We’ve intentionally priced tickets to Podthon ’20 at $37.50 for live access and $75 for the All-Access Pass which gives attendees lifetime access to all the content, bonus videos, and worksheets. Recently, Buzzsprout named Podthon one of the most affordable podcast conferences out there!

What You Can Expect
In addition to speaker sessions, this year we are introducing panel discussions as well. Our two keynote panels include podcasting conference event organizers like Chris Krimitsos from Podfest Expo, one of the world’s largest podcasting conferences held in Orlando, Florida, and Talib Jasir, founder of Afros & Audio Festival, a conference for Black podcast creatives and audio professionals. In this session, attendees will learn exactly what podcast event organizers are looking for and how to land a spot on their stages. This has never been done before. We are the first to bring industry leaders together on one stage!
Other sessions we are looking forward to include:
Turn Your Podcast into a Six-Figure Coaching Business with Dielle McMillan host of School of Ambition
How To Tap Into the Asian Market with Norman Chella host of Podlovers Asia
Crowfunding Your Podcast with Kriselle Gabriel of Empowered in Color
These are just a few of the amazing talks we’ll be offering in our summit. Check out our 2020 lineup of speakers here.
This year’s virtual summit will be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 18th – 19th from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM (EST). Remember, even if you can’t make it live, you can still get the All-Access Pass to watch the summit replays on-demand.
